Residential and Commercial Development, 5-11 Market Place, Lauder, Scottish Borders

Jefcoate Anderson were appointed by our client who had purchased a number of adjoining commercial and residential properties on the Market Place in Lauder.

The properties were in a very poor condition and had been used mainly for storage for a number of years.

Statutory consents were sought for a new extension to the rear of the property, the conversion of a derelict bothy building to the rear of the property to form a two bedroom house and the conversion of the street frontage properties to form the following:

Knight Frank estate Agency

A new pharmacy

A local express convenience store

2 no. three/four bedroom double upper flats

2 no. two bedroom flat

1 no. one bedroom flat

All of the windows were replaced as was the majority of the slate and lead roofing.

The project has regenerated this part of Lauder and feedback from the local population has been incredibly positive.
